Biography
Aaron Leung is one of the most active flute concertist in Hong Kong. He is one of the few Hong Kong flutist that constantly appears as soloist with different professional orchestras in Europe. Aaron Leung was born in Hong Kong in 1997, he was admitted to Queen’s College as a Musical Talent. He obtained his Bachelor Degree with Dean’s List under the tutelage of Emily Lin and Izaskun Erdocia at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. He then obtained Master Degree with Highest Distinction at Royal Conservatoire de Mons in Belgium with
internationally renowned flutist Marc Grauwels. Furthermore, he perfected
his artistry and skills with Patrick Gallois, Jurgen Franz, Raffaele Trevisani
and Michael Martin Kofler...
As a soloist he performed with orchestras such as Sliven Symphony
Orchestra, Waterloo Chamber Orchestra, Mons Virtuosi Chamber
Orchestra and the Academy Orchestra of HKAPA. And he played with
different leading ensembles such as Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Musique
Nouvelles and Virtuosi di Waterloo. He has worked with decorated
conductors such as Gustavo Dudamel, Jaap van Zweden and Lio
Kuokman. He was invited to play in Festival Musical de Lasne, Festival
Castell Peralada, Classissimo, Mendelssohn Festival... In addition to being
a flutist, Aaron is a promising conductor who studied with renowned Hong
Kong conductor Henry Shek. He have been invited to conduct in HKAPA
Contemporary Ensemble and Queen’s College Orchestra.
Aaron Leung is Emerging Artist of well-known Japanese flute maker,
Miyazawa. And he performs with a Miyazawa 9k Gold Flute. Aaron
Leung is currently teaching in The Education University of Hong Kong. In 2024, his first album "Aaron Leung plays Schumann & Franck" is released and his next album "Après Un Rêve" with harpist Natalie Lo will release on 2025 under Da Vinci Classics.
